What is the procedure involved in dental crowns and bridges?

  • After root canal treatment your dentist will modify your tooth according to the material of crown.
  • There are various materials available for crowns which includes metal, metal ceramic, DMLS crowns, Zirconia and Emax (Lithum disilicate).
  • The type of material depends on size, shape, position of tooth and as well as patients choice.
  • Once the dentist prepares the tooth, then impressions of the same will be recorded and sent to lab which is followed by crown cementation and checking of high points, finishing and polishing.

How much time is required for the procedure?

Usually done in 2 appointments, but time will vary if multiple teeth are involved.

  • Crown preparation – 1 appointment (1 hour)
  • Crown cementation – 1 appointment (20 minutes)

What are the things to do after crown and bridge fixation?
